குறளின் குரல் - 529

விருப்பறாச் சுற்றம் இயையின் அருப்பறா

ஆக்கம் பலவும் தரும்.

                             (குறள் 522: சுற்றந்தழால் அதிகாரம்)

Transliteration:

viruppaRAch suRRam iyaiyin aruppaRA

Akkam palavum tharum

viruppaRAch – Unfailing love or affection

suRRam iyaiyin – if the kindred( for anyone) have,

aruppaRA – without fading to have new blossoms of

Akkam palavum – wealth of many forms

Tharum – will bring forth

When a person is bestowed with kindred of unfailing love and affection, the person will have unfading blossom of wealth in many forms. The word “viruppaRa” implies the kindred without any inner agenda or enmity. For people to have unconditional and unfailing love, a person must deserve it too. It must be costrued that this verse is said in the context of ruler who has the qualities described in the previous chapters.

“Bestowed with kindred with unfading love and affection

 Wealth in many a form will multiply for, as a benefiction

தமிழிலே:

விருப்பறாச் - விருப்பு அறா - அன்பு அகலாத

சுற்றம் இயையின் - சுற்றம் சூழ்ந்திருப்பின்

அருப்பறா - அரும்புதல் (துளிர்த்தல்) கருகி ஓயாது

ஆக்கம் பலவும் - பல செல்வங்களையும்

தரும்- கொடுக்கும்

அன்பு அகலாத சுற்றம் வாய்த்த ஒருவருக்கு, செல்வம் கன்றாமல் அரும்பிக்கொண்டே இருக்கும். இங்கே அரும்புதல், கிளைத்தல், துளிர்த்தல் என்ற பொருள்களில் வரும். விருப்பு அறா சுற்றம் என்றது, உட்பகை அற்று உடனுறையும் சுற்றமாகக் கொள்ளப்பட வேண்டும். எளிய குறள். எளிய கருத்து. இக்குறளையும், முந்தைய அதிகாரங்களின் குறட்பாக்களுக்கு சொல்லப்பட்ட ஆள்வோரின் குணநலன்களுக்குப் பொருத்தி உள்ளுரையாகச் சொல்லப்பட்டதாகக் கொள்ளவேண்டும்.
