ஊடல் உணங்க விடுவாரோடு என்நெஞ்சம்
கூடுவேம் என்பது அவா.
(குறள் 1310:
புலவி அதிகாரம்)
ஊடல் - என்னோடு பிணங்கி
உணங்க விடுவாரோடு - என் நெஞ்சை வாட விடுவாரோடு
என்நெஞ்சம் - என்னுடைய நெஞ்சமானது
கூடுவேம் என்பது - கூடவேண்டும் என்று விழைவது
அவா - அதன் ஆசையே அன்றி பிறிதல்ல!
தலைவி தன் நெஞ்சில் பொதிந்திருக்கும் தலைவனைக்
கூடும் விழைவை இவ்வாறு தெரிவிக்கிறாள். “தான் பிணங்கி ஊடல் கொள்ளுமாறு செய்து, அதனால்
நான் வாடும்படி செய்தவரைக் கூடுதற்கு என்நெஞ்சம் விழைவது அவரோடு கலவி விழையும் ஆசையினாலன்றி
பிற காரணமேதுமில்லை” என்று தன் புலவி தீர்ந்து
தலைவனைக் கூட விழைவதைத் தோழிக்குக் கூறுகிறாள்.
Transliteration:
UDal uNanga viDuvArODu ennenjam
kUDuvEm enbadu avA
UDal – Being in love-quarrel
uNanga viDuvArODu –
that has left me languishing
ennenjam – in my heart
kUDuvEm enbadu –
To unite with him is
avA – because of desire.
The maiden expresses her desire to be
with her man to her friend thus:”He has left me to be in love-quarrel with him
and languish; yet, my heart desires to be with him; it is because of its desire
to be with him in conjugal union; other than this there is no reason”
“It is nothing but the desire of my hear that
wants to unite
with him,
though he has left me languish in this love-fight”
