குறளின் குரல் - 1260

நிறையுடையேன் என்பேன்மன் யானோஎன் காமம்

மறையிறந்து மன்று படும்.

                           (குறள் 1254: நிறையழிதல் அதிகாரம்)

நிறையுடையேன் - என்புலன்களை என்வயத்திருத்தி மனவடக்கம் கொண்டிருக்கிறேன்

என்பேன்மன் யானோ - என்று சொல்லுவேன் நானோ

என் காமம் - என் காம விழைவோ

மறையிறந்து - அப்பெருமையைக் குலைக்கும் விதமாக ஒளிந்திருத்தலைத் தொலைத்துவிட்டு

மன்று படும் - அம்பலத்துக்கு வந்துவிடும், யாவரும் காண

நான் என்னுடைய புலன்களையெல்லாம் என்னுடைய வயத்தில் வைத்திருக்கும் மனவடக்கம் கொண்டவன் என்று சொல்லிக்கொண்டிருப்பேன். ஆனால் என்னுடைய காம விழைவோ, அப்பெருமையை வெறுமையாக்கிக் குலைத்து, தாமாக வெளிப்பட்டு, அம்பலத்துக்கு வந்து விடுகிறது, என்கிறாள் தலவனின் காமக்கிழத்தி இக்குறளில்!

Transliteration:

niRaiyuDaiyEn enbEnman yAnOen kAmam

maRaiyiRandu manRu paDum

niRaiyuDaiyEn – I have kept my senses under vigil and self control

enbEnman yAnO – so would I profess

en kAmam – but me lustful desire

maRaiyiRandu – losing its concealed nature

manRu paDum – exposes itself in the open, in public

Here i have prided myself and would profess to have impeccable control of self and senses. But my lustful desire would reveal itself from concealement in open and public; So laments the maiden with lustful desire in this verse.

“Here I pride and profess to have self-control of senses

 But lust has let itself out in open breaking pretenses”
