ஏதிலார் போலப் பொதுநோக்கு நோக்குதல்

காதலார் கண்ணே உள.

ஏதிலார் போலப் - ஒருவரை ஒருவர் முன்பின் பார்த்தறியாதவர்போல

பொதுநோக்கு நோக்குதல் - சாதாரணமாகப் பார்த்தல்போல் (உள்ளத்தில் மகிழ்வை மறைத்து) நடிப்பு

காதலார் கண்ணே உள - ஒருவரை ஒருவர் காதலிக்கும் காதலர்களிடையேதான் உள்ளது.

ஒருவரை ஒருவர் தீவிரமாக காதலித்தும் பொது இடங்களில் பார்த்துக் கொள்ளும்போது, முன்பின் அறியாதவர்கள்போல நடித்து நடந்துகொள்வது காதலர்களிடையே காணப்படும் ஓரியற்கையாம். மற்றவர்களிடம் தம் காதலை மறைத்து, தமக்குள்ளே மறைவாகக் கொண்டாடுவதில் மகிழ்வது காதலர் உள்ளங்களே!

Transliteration:

EdilAr pOlap podunOkku nOkkudal

kAdalAr kaNNE uLa

EdilAr pOlap – as if they have not seen ever before

podunOkku nOkkudal – and as if looking like anybody else (hiding happiness inside)

kAdalAr kaNNE uLa – such posture is most commonly seen between lovers.

Though deeply in love, to pretend as if they have never ever seen each other before and exchange a pretentious glance as if seeing anybody else is typically the nature of lovers. To hide their love in the eyes of others and rejoice within themselves is most commonly seen in them.
