பெருமை யுடையவர் ஆற்றுவார் ஆற்றின்
அருமை உடைய செயல்.
(குறள் 975:
பெருமை அதிகாரம்)
பெருமையுடையவர் - பெருமையெனும் அணியினைப் பூண்டவர்
ஆற்றுவார் - செய்வார்
ஆற்றின் - செய்தால்
அருமை உடைய - செய்வதற்கு அரியவாகிய
செயல் - செயல்களை
பெருமையெனும் அணியினைப் பூண்டவர்கள் ஆற்றுதற்கு அரிய செயல்களையே
செய்வார்கள், அவற்றையும் செய்வதற்கு உரிய முறையிலே, என்கிறது இக்குறள். அதாவது அரிய
செயல்களை உரிய முறையில் செவ்வனே செய்பவர்களே பெருமையெனும் அணியைப் பூண்டவர்கள்.
கம்பராமாயணம் இதையே வேறுவிதமாகச் சொல்கிறது. “பெருமையோ
ராயினும் பெருமை பேசலார் கருமமே யல்லது பிறிதென் கண்டது”, என்று!
Transliteration:
Perumai
uDaiyavar ARRuvAr ARRin
Arumai
uDaiya seyal
PerumaiyuDaiyavar –
those who are great and glorious
ARRuvAr –
will do
ARRin –
when they do
Arumai
uDaiya – that which are proper and rare accomplishments
Seyal –
and such endeavors, deeds.
Those that are glorious and great shall do only rare
and precious to accomplish, that too in perfect order, says this verse. In
other words, only those who accomplish rare deeds, that too in perfect order
are the one that get glory and prideful greatness.
“People of prideful glory and greatness
will do
deeds that are rare, and in perfect order too!”
