அறிவுடையார் ஆவ தறிவார் அறிவிலார்


அஃதறி கல்லா தவர்.

                                  (குறள் 427: அறிவுடமை அதிகாரம்)

Transliteration:

aRivuDaiyAr Ava dhaRivAr aRiviLAr

ahdhaRi kallA dhavar

aRivuDaiyAr – People of learned wisdom

Avadh(u) aRivAr – are capable of knowing what is about to come in life (and be prepared)

aRiviLAr – People that have no wisdom or learning

ahdh(u) – those happenings of future

aRikallAdhavar – have not ability to understand (the future developments)

Yet another simple verse with a thought almost apparent to everyone! People of wisdom that are learned and also have listened to scholars speak, can discern the good from the bad and also know what is about to come because of the current actions. Those who are not either learned or have listened to words of erudite lack the ability for the above said.

“Wise discern and are aware of repurcussion

 Of actions and Fools fail to have that vision”

தமிழிலே:

அறிவுடையார் - கல்வி கேள்விகளிலில் சிறந்து விளங்குபவர்கள்

ஆவதறிவார் - பின் விளையக்கூடியவற்றை முன்பாகவே அறிபவர்கள் அல்லது நல்லவற்றை

அறிவிலார்
 - கல்வி கேள்வியறிவில்லாதவர்கள்

அஃது - அவற்றை (பின் விளவுகளை) அதாவது நல்லவை எவை என்பவற்றை

அறிகல்லாதவர் - அறியமுடியாதவர்கள்

இக்குறள் சொல்லும் கருத்து எளிமையானதும், எல்லோரும் அறிவதுமான ஒன்றுதான். கல்வி கேள்விகளினால் அறிவுடமை பெற்றவர்கள் நல்லவை எவை, அல்லவை எவை என்பதும், ஒரு செயலின் பின் விளவுகளையும் அறியக்கூடியத் திறமை இருக்கும். அவ்வாறு இல்லாத அறிவற்றவர்களுக்கு, நல்லவை, அல்லவை, செயல்களினால் விளயக்கூடியவை என்கிற எண்ணங்களோ அல்லது ஆராயக்கூடியத் திறமையோ இராது,
