குறளின் குரல் - 318

இறந்தார் இறந்தார் அனையர் சினத்தைத்

துறந்தார் துறந்தார் துணை

                       (குறள் 310:  வெகுளாமை அதிகாரம்)

Transliteration:

iRandhAr iRandhAr anaiyar sinaththai

thuRandhAr thuRandhAr thuNai

iRandhAr – Those who have excessive rage, anger

iRandhAr anaiyar – are equal to dead people

sinaththai thuRandhAr – those who relinquish anger

thuRandhAr thuNai – are deserving souls of ascetic nature, to have lasting heavenly abode.

The last verse of this chapter compares death to exceesive rage and absence of anger to lasting heavenly abode, thus highlighting the greatness of not having rage or anger.

Those who have excessive anger or rage in them, though are living, are equal to dead! Those who have relinquished anger, though have this perishable body, are of ascetic stature and have a lasting place in heavenly abode.

“ Given into excessive rage, a person is considered dead

 Absence of anger places a person in the lasting abode”

தமிழிலே:

இறந்தார் - மிகுந்தோர் (சினத்தில் என்று சொல்லாமல் உணர்த்தப்படுகிறது)

இறந்தார் அனையர் - செத்தவருக்கு ஒப்பாவர்

சினத்தைத் துறந்தார் - அச் சினத்தினைத் துறந்தவர்கள்

துறந்தார் துணை - நித்தியமாக இருக்கக்கூடிய வீட்டுப்பேற்றினைப் பெறத்தகுந்த துறவினருக்கு ஒப்பர்.

இவ்வதிகாரத்தின் இறுதிக்குறளில், சினத்தை இறத்தலுக்கும், சினமின்மையை நித்தியமான நிலைக்குமாகக்காட்டி, சினமின்மையின் உயர்வைச் சொல்லி நிறைவு செய்கிறார்.

மிகுந்த சினத்தினை உடையவர்கள், உயிரோடு இருந்தாலும் செத்தவர்களுக்கு ஒப்பாவர். அத்தகைய கீழ்மையாம் சினத்தினைத் துறந்தவர்கள் அழியும் உடலைப் பெற்றவர்களாயினும், நித்தியமாம் வீட்டுப்பேற்றினைப் பெறத்தக்கவர்களான துறவு நிலையிலுள்ளவர்கள்

செத்தாருக் கொப்பர் சினமிகுந்தார் - அஃதிறந்தார்

நித்தியமாம் வீடுபெற் றோர்
