புல்லிக் கிடந்தேன் புடைபெயர்ந்தேன் அவ்வளவில்

அள்ளிக்கொள் வற்றே பசப்பு.

புல்லிக் கிடந்தேன் - நான் அவரைத் தழுவி இருந்தேன் முதலில்

புடைபெயர்ந்தேன் - பிறகு அவர் பக்கத்திருந்து சற்றே விலகினேன்

அவ்வளவில் - அவ்வாறு நடந்தவுடனே

அள்ளிக் கொள்வற்றே - என்னைப் பற்றிக்கொண்டதே

பசப்பு - பசலை

இந்த பசலையெனும் பொலிவுக் குலைவு, எப்போது நான் என் காதலரின் அணைப்பிலிருந்து சற்று விலகுவேன் என்று பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருக்கிறது. முன்பு, நான் அவர் அணைப்பில், அவரைத் தழுவிக் கிடந்தேன். பிறகு சற்றே விலகப் பக்கமாக நகர்ந்தேன். அதற்குள்ளாகவே இந்த பசலையானது,  என்னைத் தன் அணைப்பில் அள்ளி, ஆட்கொண்டது, என்கிறாள் காதற்தலைவி. அதாவது தலைவனின் அணைப்பில் இல்லாத கணமெல்லாம், அவளை பசலை  அள்ளித் தழுவி, ஆட்கொள்கிறதாம், அன்பின் அணைப்பிலிருந்து விலகுகையின் துன்பின் அணைப்பு உறுதல் போல!

Transliteration:

pullIk kiDandEn puDaipeyarndEn avvaLavil

aLLikkoL vaRRE pasappu.

pullIk kiDandEn – I was in his embrace before

puDaipeyarndEn – I moved away from the embrace of him only a little bit

avvaLavil – As it happened

aLLikkoLvaRRE – Took me in its embrace

pasappu – the disease of loss of luster

This disease of loss of luster, just waits for the moment of my being away from the embrace of my lover; Earlier I was happily embracing him; Just for a while, to shift my position, I moved and immediately this “pasalai/pachalai” took me in its embrace, as if waiting for that moment. She feels all the moments that she is not in his lovers’ embrace the disease of Pachalai is just waiting to embrace her as misery embraces when you’re out of merry.

“I was in my lovers’ embrace; just turned a little to the side;

 and this sallowness grabbed my embrace, as if I desired”
