வினைக்குரிமை நாடிய பின்றை அவனை

அதற்குரிய னாகச் செயல்.

                             (குறள் 518: தெரிந்து வினையாடல் அதிகாரம்)

Transliteration::

Vinaikkurimai nADiya pinRai avanai

athaRkuriya nAgach cheyal

Vinaikku – People of authority and power, to get their work done

urimai – suitable (right and capable)

nADiya pinRai – after finding such a person and entrusting him,

avanai – that person

athaRku uriyanAgach – empowering him with all that needs to get the job done

cheyal – must be done (empowering)

This verse is about empowering the suitable find to get a job done. It is not only enough to indentify the right person to do a job, but once found, must be empowered to go about the job based on his best judgement and executional style.  Empowering here means, furnishing with the requisite help financially and otherwise.

“After identifying the appropriate person to perform a work

To empower them fully, interference, an authority must shirk”

தமிழிலே:

வினைக்கு - அதிகாரத்தில் இருப்போர் தன் வினை செய்வதற்கு

உரிமை - உரியவனாக

நாடிய பின்றை - ஒருவனை ஆராய்ந்து கண்ட பின்னர்

அவனை - அவனை

அதற்கு உரியனாகச் - அவ்வினைக்கு முற்றிலும் செயலாக்கும் அதிகாரம் உள்ளவனாக

செயல்- ஆக்க வேண்டும்

இக்குறள் ஒருவரை ஒரு வேலை செய்யத் தேர்வு செய்வதோடு மட்டுமல்லாது, அதற்கு மேலும் அதிகாரத்தில் உள்ளோர் செய்ய வேண்டியது யாதென கூறுகிறது.  இவ்வேலைக்கு இவரே உரியர் என்று ஆராய்ந்து தேர்வு செய்துவிட்டு, அவர் வேலையை செய்து முடிக்கும் வரை ஆக்கவழி ஆலோசனைகள் வழங்குதலும், பொதுவாக கண்காணிப்பு மேற்பார்வையும் செய்யலாமே தவிர ஒவ்வொரு கட்டத்திலும் வேலைக்குக் குந்தகம் விளைக்கும் செயல்களைச் செய்யக்கூடாது. இதையே அடிக்கருத்தாக இக்குறள் சொல்லுகிறது.

தேர்ந்தொருவன் செய்யவினை கண்டபின்னர் அவ்வினையில்

சீர்த்தியுறத் தேர்ந்தானைச் செய்
