129: (Hastening for coition  - புணர்ச்சி விதும்பல்)

[Sensing that her lover may be leaving soon, the maiden hastens for coition and for the same reason her lover also hastens for the same. Though both would hasten for such union and reunion before leaving and right after leaving, the chapter has been written mostly in the voice of the maiden in love]

உள்ளக் களித்தலும் காண மகிழ்தலும்

கள்ளுக்கில் காமத்திற் குண்டு.

                           (குறள் 1281: புணர்ச்சிவிதும்பல் அதிகாரம்)

உள்ளக் களித்தலும் - உள்ளத்தில் நினைத்து இன்பம் கொள்ளுதலும்

காண மகிழ்தலும் - கண்ட மாத்திரத்திலேயே இன்பம் கொள்ளுதலும்

கள்ளுக்கு இல் - மயக்கத்தைத் தரக்கூடிய கள்ளுக்குக் கூட கிடையாது.

காமத்திற்கு உண்டு - ஆனால் காமமாகிய கூடலுக்கு உண்டு.

இக்குறளைக் காதற்தலைவி தோழிக்குச் சொல்லுவதாக பரிமேலழகர் கூறுகிறார். உன்னை அவன் பிரிந்துச் செல்லப்போகிறான் உன்னுடைய தலைவன். நீ அவனுடன் வருத்தத்தில் இராது, கலக்கத் துடிக்கிறாயே என்று கேட்கும் தோழிக்கு தலைவி இவ்வாறு கூறுவாளாயினள்: நினைத்த மாத்திரத்திலும், காணுந்தோறும் இன்பம் கொள்வதென்பது மயக்கத்தைத் தரக்கூடிய கள்ளுக்குக்கூட கிடையாது. ஆனால் இக்கலவி இன்பத்துக்கு உண்டே; கலவி கருதும் எனக்கு வருத்தத்தை நினைக்க மனமும் இல்லை, நேரமும் இல்லை என்கிறாள் அவள்.

Transliteration:

uLLak kaLittalum kANa magizdalum

kaLLukkil kAmattiR kuDu

uLLak kaLittalum – having pleasure even by thinking

kANa magizdalum – and by seeing

kaLLukk(u) il – is not possible even with toddy,

kAmattiRk(u) uNDu – but coition can give that pleasure.

Parimelazhagar pictures this verse as being said the maiden to her friend. Friend asks maiden as to why she hastens to have coition with her lover who is ready to leave, instead of being upset with him. To which, maiden answers thus: Even drinking toddy, is not pleasurable by thinking or by seeing, but the coition is!  So, what is in my mind now, I have no mind or time to think about his leaving or the displeasure it yields.

“Pleasure by thinking or happiness by seeing

 not even in toddy; but for sure in lovemaking”

எண்ணவும் காணவும் கொள்ளின்பம் கள்ளினை

உண்ணவுமில் காமத்தில் உண்டு.
